If you frequently follows news and social media you have seen Kipchumba Murkomen at some point. Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen is a Kenyan lawyer. He served as cabinet minister for Roads, Transport, and Public works in Kenya. He served as the senator for Elgeyo-Marakwet County from 2013 to 2022. Also he was majority leader of the Senate. Currently he is the Cabinet secretary for roads, transport and public works.
The cabinet secretary took time to understand the organizational and structure of the port. He tweeted that," I took time to understand the organizational and operation structure of the Port. I was apprised of the progress Kenya has made in streamlining and modernizing Port operations and the existential challenges that need Government intervention.
I had an insightful tour of all the berths and facilities including the recently commissioned Kipevu Oil Terminal.
I promised the team my full support as we work together to make our Ports the most competitive in the continent.
We will adopt a multi-sectoral approach to address the impediments preventing KPA from operating at optimal capacity and put in place laws,regulations and policies that will encourage investment and improve Ease of Doing Business."
