For the better part of today, news of former Citizen TV journalist Hussein Mohammed's appointment as the director of communications for Deputy President William Ruto's presidential campaign team has been trending. The majority of Kenyans were taken aback by the appointment.
A number of MPs and supporters of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have taken to social media to express their views on Mohammed's new post. The majority of them have congratulated the accomplished media figure.
Mutahi Ngunyi, DP Ruto's most vehement adversary, has not shied away from expressing his thoughts on Hussein's case. Hussein has replaced Dennis Itumbi, who also works in Ruto's communications department, according to the political analyst's verified Twitter account.
"I was under the impression that Itumbi was the Director of Communications at UDA. Who is Hussein Muhammed, this newcomer? Itumbi has been replaced by Hussein after Mudavadi replaced Waiguru as running mate "He tweet this.
