Ruto Could Soon be Blocked From Visiting Ukambani, Told His Offence

Kitui governor Charity Ngilu now says that they will not allow Deputy President William Ruto to visit and speaking in Ukambani if he holds onto the attitude he has towards some area leaders.

Ruto has been a frequent visitor to the three Lower Eastern counties, as he seeks the support of the Kamba community for his August presidential bid.

But Ngilu has observed that he has been using the tours to disrespect area leaders, especially Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, which must now stop.

Speaking via Facebook on Saturday, she said that if not ready to change, they as the leaders in charge of the region will have to stop him.

"We will not allow Ruto to come to Ukambani and insult out honest leader just like he did in Meru with Governor Kiraitu Murungi while we watch. It just won’t happen again," said the first term county chief and vocal Ruto critic.

She spoke only days after Ruto mocked Kalonzo for losing hair, terming the same the result of too much belief that ODM boss Raila Odinga can be President.

Ruto had said that Kalonzo is going bald for spending too much time trying to help Raila become President and it is time he stopped and looked elsewhere.

But Ngilu says that Ruto has no moral authority to attack Kalonzo, who is superior to him whichever way one looks at it.

"Kalonzo is very reliable and cannot be compared with Ruto, they are like day and night. Kalonzo is tried and tested. It's not a name you can play with. You cant come to Ukambani and talk ill of the person of Kalonzo," she is quoted.

Last year, Ruto was also in trouble for bashing Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi for supporting Raila. He is also known for his attacks on the former Premier.
