How Ruto Allegedly 'Sneaked' Into Jubilee Headquarters on Thursday

Emerging details now suggest that Deputy President William Ruto kind of sneaked into the Jubilee Party Headquarters on Thursday, without obtaining the needed permission.

Ruto held a meeting with about 30 leaders allied to the party, who are also members of his camp in a boardroom within the building, which has seen him banned from holding political meetings at the offices.

Details now indicate that he never informed party Secretary General Raphael Tuju of his intention to host the meeting as should be the case, and only did it after the meeting was concluded.

As a result, in a presse outside the Pangani building on Friday, Tuju declared the DP persona non grata, saying that he can proceed with his 2022 campaigns at his Jubilee Asili offices and not Jubilee party's.

"That the deputy party leader as a self-declared presidential candidate for 2022 will not be allowed to use the party headquarters as a centre of operationalisation of his 2022 campaign and to use the centre to intimidate any potential opponent or party staff,” he is quoted by the Standard.

He further accused the DP of working against President Uhuru Kenyatta, who doubles up as the party leader, by hosting gatherings which have ended up being campaign stunts.

Tuju added that a push has kicked off to have Ruto ejected from his Deputy Party Leader position, as well telling him off in his (Ruto) quest to have party grassroots elections held in the near future.

“It is noteworthy that the party constitution has not given the deputy president any specific role of organising party grassroots elections in collaboration with his select MPs and senators as emerged from the press conference yesterday addressed by MPs and senators allied to him,” he is further quoted.

All this happened in the absence of the President, who has been away on official duties.
