The 21st of October, 2021 – During Raila Odinga's Thursday evening campaign tour throughout their area, ex-Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo and a slew of other local officials met up with ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.
In their rallies, a sea of humanity thronged the streets of Kiambu to support the duo who were also accompanied by the incumbent governor James Nyoro.
Mr. Kabogo praised Odinga's constantly growing mountain support, stating that today was a fantastic opportunity for his (Kabogo's) new Tujibebe Wakenya Party, which he recently founded.
For the past few weeks, the opposition leader has been unable to settle down; instead, he has chosen to set up camp in Central Kenya, holding a series of meetings, tours, and rallies throughout the region in order to popularize himself.
Strategists also claim Odinga is going to likely pick his running mate from the floppy Mountain so as to increase his chances of beating the DP who is currently ahead in ratings.
According to recent polls conducted by a local media outlet, Kenyans.co.ke, Ruto remains the strongest candidate to defeat in Mount Kenya, trailed by Mr. Odinga by a wide margin.
Following the death of the Building Bridges Initiative BBI, Raila opted to switch to the trickle down economic model to compete Ruto’s Bottom Up structure. These two models, though seem to be almost amounting to these same thing, pundits have it that only the marketing strategy will save one over the other.
