Sad as Chama Cha Mashinani party leader Isaac Ruto who was among the top contenders in the Bomet Gubernatorial race has been airlifted to Nairobi by Amref Flying doctors from his Tumoi home after suffering acute flu.
Details emerging from the Chama Cha Mashinani Secretarty General, Mr. Albert Kochei reveal that the former governor is currently receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital after falling ill at his home.
According to Mr. Kochei, the first Bomet County Governor has been unwell for the last few days necessitating special medical attention.
However according to the CCM Secretarty General, SG, Isack Ruto is on the road to recovery and would be discharged from hospital at any time.
"His Excellency Isaac Ruto fell ill the last one week during campaigns but as of now he is responding well to treatment and we are optimistic he will be discharged soon," Kochei said.
According to the Secretary General, the former county boss was initially suspected to be ailing from Covid-19 but after going through series of Covid-19 tests at one of the City hospitals, all the results turned negative.
In a press briefing just ten minutes ago, Kochei said it is quite unfortunate that Ruto would be missing during the vote tallying asking his supporters to stay calm.
