John Khaminwa has said that the Kenyan Constitution was drafted in a manner that it is not amendable. He said that if we allow people to amend the Constitution within a short period of time then we will not have a Constitution. He said that article 256 and 257 gives provision for amending the Constitution but cannot be interpreted by the court.
I agree with him because if allowed some people will amend it for selfish gain not minding the interest of the common citizen.Kenyans have reacted differently to the same, Jerry Dekosh wrote that he thought the man had wisdom because article 256 and 257 talks about amending the Constitution. He wanted to know the article he used when he said the Constitution cannot be amended.Duke Osoro wondered if the problem was the period of amendment or the reason for the amendment.
Harun Anunda Said that we Kenyans have the best Constitution that accommodates everyone but what we lack is good governance.
What is your view, is the Kenyan Constitution amendable, leave your comments. Thanks you.
