Kalonzo Musyoka Shares Strong Message to Ruto

President William Ruto has come under fire from the leader of the Wiper party for making further commitments to Kenyans during this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations, which were held on Thursday, October 20th at Uhuru Gardens.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Kalonzo who was present at the occasion praised Ruto's address but questioned who is making the president's decisions because his cabinet has not yet been assembled.

The president's remarks from yesterday add to others but the constitution stipulates that the president, the vice president and the rest of the cabinet make up the Executive which is led by the president.

The president cannot force decisions on the nation simply because he is the president according to the constitution. Kenyans are aware that Ruto lacks a cabinet. A vetting procedure is also being conducted on the principal secretaries who have been shortlisted.

We are concerned about the direction the new administration is going and have to wonder who is making these decisions because we believe in the rule of law and the constitution. The cabinet is not present.

The National Assembly Committee on Appointments has been reviewing the president's nominees for cabinet secretaries since Monday, October 17. The final group is anticipated to be reviewed on Saturday, October 22.
