Murang'a Woman Rep Betty Maina has accused Water cabinet secretary Hon Alice Wahome for campaigning the candidate of Ford Asili Party in the Kandara mini polls instead of teaming up with his colleagues at UDA who were campaigning for UDA candidate.
It is fortunately that the UDA candidate Chege Njuguna won the by election by collecting the most votes in the constituency. Maina said that Wahome was trying to settle political scores with Njuguna whom they have been fight for long time now. Wahome left the seat vacant when he was chosen by the president William Ruto to be the CS for Water.
Njuguna defeated 13 other contestants to get UDA ticket and it was almost 100 percentage that he was likely to win the race. Njuguna got 21,650 votes defeating Titus Mbuchu of Ford Asili came in second with 14, 678 votes while PMG's Kibiru Junior was third after garnering 1,478 votes.
