Mt Kenya region has not identified the next Kingpin after the exit of president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022. They have been trying to front various leaders but they have failed terribly to unite the region. They tried Peter Kenneth, Ann Waiguru, Kiunjuri and many others but their influence was not felt. The national assembly speaker was also appointed as the spokesman but he was rejected by his fellow colleagues from the same region.
Honourable William Kabogo who is the former Kiambu governor is positioning himself as the right man to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta as the Spokesman of the region. He organised a meeting in Meru this weekend.
The meeting brought together leaders from both Central Kenya and and Eastern region especially from Meru and Embu communities. The main agenda was to bring people of these regions together so that they can have a bigger cake in the national government. Kabogo was blocked by many residents of Karatina town who demanded to be addressed by him. He did as they wished.
The magnitude of the crowd is a clear indication that Kabogo is the man to watch in Central Kenya as well as nationally. If he continues with these meetings, he may turn out to be the political Messiah the people of Mt Kenya were looking for.
