As the nation prepares for the general elections in August, Deputy President William Ruto, the presidential candidate for the Kenya Kwanza alliance and Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate for the Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition party and the leader of the ODM party, are vying for influence.
As election day approaches, the two leading candidates are making no mistakes as they square off in a heated political battle that has included profanity.
For instance, former prime minister Hon Raila Odinga openly urged deputy president William Ruto to halt after he purposefully pushed against his big opportunity.
Speaking at a gathering yesterday, the former prime minister urged the Kenya Kwanza alliance candidate to cease referring to him as "Mganga" while also advising him to get ready for a crushing defeat in the elections scheduled for next month.
