The director of public prosecution Noordin Haji has come out to breathe fire after reports that he told the court that cabinet secretary appointee Aisha Jumwa was ordered to stay near state house by president William Ruto yesterday. This follows a report by NTV journalist James Smar
In an angry statement, Noordin Haji has threatened to take action on the journalist even as he rightly clarified that the person who made the submissions in court is Aisha Jumwa's lawyer Dunstan Omari.
The DPP further added that it takes great exception to such cases of misreporting from journalist and that his office is always available for any clarification. He said that court records confirm that the submission in court were made by the defence lawyer and not the DPP.
"ODPP would like to encourage factual reporting. The ODPP takes great exception to such reporting from journalists and media houses that continues to misreport and misrepresent facts. We will take action against such reporting. The ODPP is always available for clarification," part of Haji's statement read.
