The results of the 2022 presidential election have yet to be announced, with Vice President William Ruto or ODM leader Raila Odinga set to succeed President Kenyatta at the end of his term. The race has so far proved to be a tight one with a very small gap between the two leading contenders.
Political analyst Herman Manyora has shared her thoughts on the election as the results continue to pour in. According to Manyora, the vice president has played a huge role in the election so far.
The professor praised the deputy President for his outstanding performance in areas mostly identified as Raila strongholds. According to Manyora, this clearly shows that Ruto is a tough campaigner judging by his performance in these areas.
According to Manyora, Ruto won about 30% of the vote from Raila's strongholds on the coast, west, and east.
In the meantime, feel free to share with us your thoughts on the matter.
