Kisii: Joyous Day For Dp Ruto As MCA Ditches Opposition For Hustler Nation

It was a joyous day for deputy president Dr William Ruto's camp in Kisii county on Monday after a Member of County Assembly ditched opposition side of political divide and joined Hustler Nation.

This follows Boikang'a MCA Joseph Chweya Onchieku decamped from People's Democratic Party (PDP) for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) associated with Dr Ruto.

This happened while the country's second in command was on his development and political tour in Kisii on the aforementioned date. He visited Nyakembene and Bogichoncho secondary schools were he contributed towards construction of facilities in the learning institutions.

While at Bogichoncho secondary school grounds, the DP revealed that the area County Assembly lawmaker had made a decision to be part of the Hustler Nation and was ready to drum up support for UDA's ideologies of bottom-up economic growth and promotion of learning instructions.

The DP urged the MCA and the area Member of Parliament Sylvania Osoro to work together in supporting construction of primary and secondary school learning facilities.

This was a joyful day for Dr Ruto and his team because they had managed to raid the county which, though it is considered as a swing region, leaned towards opposition and not government.

In 2013 and 2017 general election, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) won majority of the elective seats in Kisii. Governor James Ongwae is serving his second term, having been elected on the party ticket. Senator Prof Sam Ongeri emerged victorious in 2017 after ditching Jubilee for ODM. The former prime minister Raila Odinga beat the incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta in the county.
