Is DP Ruto's choice of running mate a boost to Raila's presidential ambition?

Kenyans waited for seventeen hours for Kenya Kwanza's presidential flag bearer Deputy President William Samoei Ruto to name his running mate. The white smoke was finally seen and Mathira Member of Parliament was the person, this announcement excited Mathira constituency residents only but the remaining Mount Kenya region was saddened. The reason is, that Kenya Kwanza leaders and even MP's who were allowed to vote for the preferred candidate chose Tharaka Nithi Senator Prof. Kithure Kindiki who won by a massive 50 votes against Rigathi's 6 votes.

The voting angered Rigathi and he vowed not to back down making the event to take long eventually the DP Ruto chose him for the position. Cracks are now emerging In Kenya Kwanza's stronghold of Mount Kenya East as their son was promised the seat and even told to shelve his gubernatorial ambition as the DP had a job for him. The cracks have given the Azimio flag bearer a boost as Tharaka Nithi residents were heard chanting the name of Raila Odinga after Kindiki's betrayal by the DP. Another reason why this is a boost for Raila is the many criminal cases Rigathi has on his head, a hot-tempered person among other things that comes with Ruto's choice of running mate.

If Raila choses Narck-Kenya party leader Martha Karua as his running mate, it will be game over for DP Ruto as Raila will have consolidated the women's votes, and he will have also achieved what he wanted, that is dividing the votes of the Mountain. The biggest headache for DP Ruto is how he will be able to repair the cracks that have emerged on his wall and be able to live in a strong house till August when a new president will be chosen.
