With less than 12 months remaining before next year's general elections, candidates from different regions have been running up and down as they look to consolidate their support bases ahead of the highly anticipated 2022 polls.
Several individuals have already registered their interest in taking over from President Kenyatta when his term comes to an end. The likes of Deputy President William Ruto and Odm leader Raila Odinga have been doing rounds around the country as they look to become the country's next president.
There have been lots of speculation regarding the President's preferred candidate. Uhuru has managed to keep his cards close to his chest even as the election date nears.
However, it has now emerged that the President is keen to streamline his Mt Kenya region on which direction they should be taking in 2022. According to a report by the Standard newspaper, President Kenyatta is planning to stick in the region for the next one week where he will meet grassroots leaders and listen to what they have to say.
According to the source, Uhuru will be sleeping at the Sagana state lodge for the next one week. He will also look to separate lies from facts by laying bare the facts regarding his government.
