Chebukati Receives First Batch Of Ballot Papers At JKIA

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati has received the first batch of ballot papers on Thursday, July 7, at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA.

This was after IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, revealed that the batch will be received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. However, Mr Chebukati has said that the presidential ballot papers will be the last to be printed, before jets into the country.

"Procurement have reached conclusion and what we are currently doing is the printing of ballot papers, which is still ongoing," he said.

Receiving the ballot paper together with other IEBC commissioners, Chebukati affirmed that the ballot papers will have enough security features ie serial numbers, which will be made more specific to each polling station around the country.

He further added that the number of ballot papers will be equivalent to the number of registered voters in each station and therefore no room for rigging.

"There is nothing like extra ballot papers that will be printed as alleged by some individuals,"Chebukati added.
