Well, although 2020 has ended and we have said hello to a new year, the year 2020 will be in everyone’s mind for a very long time for. It was the year which the corona virus pandemic took away jobs, joy, freedom of movement and sadly lives.

In the year 2020, a couple of politicians lost their lives to corona while others lost their lives to illness.

Here is a list of Kenyan Politicians who died in the year 2020:

1.      President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi

On 4^th February 2020, Kenyans woke up to the news of the death of the longest serving president in Kenya, President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi. He served as the president of Kenya for 24 years. He died aged 96 years old. May his soul Rest in eternal peace.

2.      Hon. Suleiman Dori

The Msambweni Member of Parliament died on 9th March 2020 while receiving treatment at a hospital in Mombasa. He was 42 years old at the time of his death. His parliamentary sit was filled by Hon. Feisal Abdallah after a by-election held on 16^th December 2020.

3.      Hon. Justus Murunga

The Matungu constituency law maker died aged 58 years.

He died on the 14^th day of November 2020

4.      Hon. James Lusweti Mukwe

Hon. James Lusweti was the sitting member of Parliament for Kabuchai constituency until the time of his death on the 4^th of December 2020. He died while receiving treatment in a hospital in Bungoma.

5.      Senator Boniface Mutinda Kabaka

The senate representative for the Machakos County died on 11^th of December 2020.

6.      Governor John Obiero Nyagarama

On 18^th of December 2020, it was reported that governor for the Nyamira County, Governor Nyagarama had died aged 74 years old.

7.      Hon. Gunga Mwinga

Hon. Gunga Mwinga died on the 27^th of December 2020 at a hospital in Mombasa.

He was a former member of parliament for Kaloleni Constituency
