President Uhuru Kenyatta spoke about how Raila will win the marathon terming Ruto's race a sprint in a marathon. This can only be translated to mean the president admits Ruto is ahead but again is clear Odinga will defeat Ruto in the long run.
Uhuru in his own words meant DP Ruto was ahead of Odinga but unfortunately he was sprinting for soon he would get out of oxygen. However this is an admission of defeat and a clear pointer that DP Ruto would easily form the next government if he maintained the lead as it's today.
It's already clear DP Ruto is not a person to get out of air that easily as well it's a fact Odinga is old enough not to beat Ruto in a race. It's therefore a fallacy to think an 80 old man can defeat a 20 or 50 year old man in a race. The fact of the matter is that Uhuru is blindly accepting the reality that DP Ruto is ahead but again hoping he would slow a little so that Odinga can pick up as wrll.
Chances are that Uhuru has intelligence DP Ruto might easily form the 2022 government but is hopeful Raila Odinga will show some magic. It's however interesting to see how this game will unfold given the fact that Ruto is not a man to slow in a race whatsoever given his massive energy in campaigns.
