William Ruto, the deputy president, appeared to criticize President Uhuru Kenyatta in a meeting with international observers today. Speaking to the observers, Ruto stated that President Uhuru Kenyatta, who leads the ODM coalition, will be his strongest opponent in the 2019 elections.
In his remarks, Ruto asserted that because Uhuru is the coalition's head, Raila Odinga, the ODM party's nominee for president, and he are the same person. The UDA have started referring to Raila Odinga as a state project as a result of Uhuru's support.
The August election was set to begin that day with the release of William Ruto's manifesto, the deputy president.
