Bible Versus Politics
Biblical allegory is a useful tool for politicians when they need to raise the hopes of their followers. Following political events, Raila has been compared to the Bibilical Moses, who wandered with Israelites for 40 years before reaching Canaan, the promised land. It is however noteworthy that the land was not so distant. The problem they had is that they were circling around the desert with no sense of direction.
Relation To Raila?
Moses And Raila are quite similar. You see, Raila began politics back in 1982, some 39 years ago. He has wandered together with his loyal supporters for nearly forty years, and following the new political prophecy, he is supposed to arrive in the great promised presidential seat.
With this declaration, it is a morale builder to Odinga supporters, that the God of Moses is on their side and that there is nothing that 'church mice' like Ruto will do to beat Raila to the presidency.
