The Elgeyo Marakwet County Senator Kipchumba Murkomen resigned from the position and was nominated by Dr William Samoei Ruto as the Cabinet Secretary in the ministry of roads, transport and public works.
Regarding this, a bie election is set to take place in his county and several leaders have come out to vie for the senate seat in Elgeyo Marakwet. One of them is Jerotich Seii.
The Uasin Gishu county women representative Hon Gladys Boss Shollei has broken silence and endorse Jerotich Seii as the perfect replacement for Murkomen. She said that Jerotich is a vocal human rights defender. She added her win will be an addition to the parliament.
"Jerotich Seii is a vocal human rights defender and was part of the Linda Katiba movement. I wholeheartedly endorse her candindature for the position of Senator Elgeyo Marakwet. With the support of Elgeyo Marakwet residents, Jerotich will be a welcome addition to Parliament," stated Shollei.
