In the last election, both coalition did not meet the threshold majority required in the national assembly where the target is 180 members of parliament. As it is now, Azimio La Umoja has 161 members of National Assembly hwile Kenya Kwanza has 159 members of National Assembly. (Women Representatives are included as MPs)
With this, no coalition has the threshold to control the house. In the Senate, the Kenya Kwanza coalition is leading with 24 senators followed by the Azimio La Umoja where 1 senator is not affiliated to any coalition. This is another tight race for nobody controls the Senate as the two houses are keenly monitored by whoever becomes the next president of the Republic of Kenya.
