The closed door meeting only open to insiders of the Mt Kenya region and mostly those opposed to deputy president William Ruto's invasion will take place at Kenya Methodist University.

Attendanding the Summit will be able governor Lee Kinayanjui of Nakuru county, Anne Mumbi Waiguru of Kirinyaga county, Mutahi Kahiga of Nyeri county,James Nyoro of Kiambu county, Mwangi Wa Iria of Murang'a and Martin Wambira of Meru.

Former Kiambu county Governor William Kabogo hosted by Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya is a key player in the unity talks and will be also attending.

According to Peter Munya's aide,Kimathi Amundi, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has been invited to the meeting. Munya and Murungi have not been reading in the same script concerning the next steps that Meru county should take to step up their political approach. Murungi has been agitating for the formation of a new Meru political party to propel the region into goverment come 2022, Munya rubbished such ideas claiming that there are already existing parties that need to be energized.

Lee Kinayanjui told Nation Africa that the main of the meeting is to consolidate Mt Kenya bloc vote. "There should be nothing like Mr.Mt Kenya West and Mr. Mt. Kenya East," Munya said while adding that the meeting is part of the president's plan to secure the region.

Munya also argued that spokesperson Muturi's supporters are also silent Ruto supporters and busy engaging in talks to lead the region into opposition come 2022.
