Bonchari constituency parliamentary seat has been empty from a while now from the time when it's MP passed on, today was set aside as the by-election date by the IEBC after a period of campaigns by the candidates who had submitted their documents to relevant institutions such as the DCI and got approved.

Despite the fact that there are more than ten candidates only three of them have been said to have the highest winning potential due to the large numbers of supporters that back them, the three candidates are Opore, Oimeke and Teresa the wife of the late former MP of the area.

So far from the votes that have already been counted ODM party candidate Opore is leading with a total of 809 votes, Jubilee party candidate Oimeke is second with 401 votes and Teresa the UDA party candidate is third with 164 votes, the votes counting process is currently in progress and much changes are expected.
