Machakos County governor and his Kilifi counterpart were one of big names to dump Azimio and join Kenya Kwanza under the leadership of DP William Ruto. This boosted Ruto's popularity as the two governors came from areas that were largely considered as Raila's strongholds. Mutua comes from Ukambani region while Amason Kingi comes from coast region.
While Mutua has stood firmly with William Ruto, Amason Kingi is seen as wavering. He has serially missed some of Ruto's countrywide campaigns. What has started raising eyebrows is when he skipped Ruto's 5-counties tour in Coast region. Many people expected Kingi to be the one to welcome Ruto in Coast region since he is the most senior politician in Kenya Kwanza from coast.
When Wehliye Mohammed posed the question, Kenyans had their reactions. Some said that Kingi cannot agree to share a platform with Aisha Jumwa. The two had a public spat as Aisha Jumwa accused Kingi of trying to zone Kilifi County for PAA party. Some people opined that Kingi was on his way back to Azimio. Do you think Amason Kingi is still in Kenya Kwanza?
