Odinga Holds Talks with Tanzanian President

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Hon Raila Odinga met and held talks with Tanzanian President H.E Samia Suluhu Hassan on Wednesday afternoon.

The two leaders discussed ways of boosting infrastructure connectivity within the East Africa Community.

The African Union High Representative on infrastructure development added that their talks also focused on exploring options of enhancing regional marine transport on Lake Victoria.

“Held talks this afternoon with the President of the United Republic of Tanzania H.E Samia Suluhu Hassan that focused on ways of boosting infrastructure connectivity within the EAC. We also explored options of enhancing regional marine transport through Lake Victoria.” he said.

Earlier on in the day, the opposition chief met families of former Tanzanian presidents Benjamin Mkapa and Pombe Magufuli.

Odinga is in Tanzania on his way home from Zambia where he attended the inauguration of Hakainde Hichilema as the country's President.

Hakainde trounced incumbent Edgar Chagwa Lungu in the August election.
