Homa Bay Nominated MCA Florence Achieng' Ouma. [Source/Ouma]
President William Ruto will not be reelected in 2027, a politician allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has predicted.
Florence Achieng' Ouma, a nominated MCA in Homa Bay County Assembly, said Ruto, just like former President of the USA Donald Trump, will only serve for one term.
"Ruto just like his Idol Trump, will be a one term President," Ouma tweeted on Friday night.
Her remark came barely weeks after an MP allied to UDA made a proposal to remove the term limit from Kenya’s constitution to allow Ruto rule for two decades.
Fafi legislator Salah Yakub argued that the duration a President stays in office should be based on age and not the period of service.
Vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna laughed off the proposal saying an attempt to extend Ruto’s tenure could actually make him a one-term president.
"A cruel joke. Can’t pass. Won’t pass a referendum. Those mooting this nonsense are desperate to make William Ruto a one-term president. Don’t even imagine it!" Miguna warned.
