Anticipation As Raila is Set to Address The Nation After Election Defeat

A day after Dr William Ruto of UDA was declared president elect by the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, the country has been thrown into suspense as his main rival Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance remain silent and missing in action.

Finally, Raila who is also the ODMparty leader is expected to come out and adress his supporters and possibly reveal his next plan politically.

According to reports by The Star, the former prime minister is expected to make his first appearance after election defeat in the afternoon on a scheduled 2:00 p.m. adress to the nation.

It is not clear whether he his going to concede and congratulate Dr. Ruto or set out a political battle headed for the supreme court. However, the country and especially his supporters awaits his adress with anticipation and anxiety.

Dr Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua were declared winners of the highly contested elections by the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, having garnered 7,176,164 votes which account for 50.49% beating Raila and his running mate Martha Karua who managed 6,942,930, accounting for 48.85% of the total votes cast.
