Ruto's Mashujaa day speech which impressed the president and Kenyans.

Mashujaa day celebrations are being held at Wang'uru Stadium in Kirinyaga County. This is a day which Kenyans usually mark to celebrate the heroes who helped to achieve independence. There were cheers allover when Deputy President William Ruto arrived at the stadium. This comes at a time when campaigns for the coming 2022 general elections are at the peak. The two strongest presidential candidates had camped the central area in the recent times seeking support from the residents.

Deputy President William Ruto celebrated President Uhuru Kenyatta and termed him as Shujaa saying his legacy in transforming Kenya is exceptional

"We celebrate you as our leader. Your place in history of Kenya is not only secure but prominent" Ruto said.

This comes at a time when the two have not been in good terms.There were other leaders who have attended the function. Some of them are Orange Democratic Movement candidate Raila Odinga. One Alliance Principals, National assembly speakers, Governors , Senators and various Members of Parliament. Malawi President Hon Lazarus Chakwera, the first lady Mrs Monica Chakwera and Rift Valley regional commissioner George Natembeya are also in attendance.

Cate Waruguru who is the Laikipia Woman Representative came out and asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to respond to and give reasons why curfew and economic hardships are still giving Kenyans hard times despite his promises
