President Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to give the nation a political direction even has his tenure in office nears a home stretch.
Speaking in Nakuru where he conferred the Town City Status, the President's speech took a political direction as he called on areas resident to take time as they evaluate their leaders.
In his remarks, in all appearances an indirect swipe at the DP, President Uhuru used an analogy of Swahili saying that goes "beginning a journey is not same to arriving".
The President made reference to the early campaigns that have evidently been conducted by his deputy across the country as he cautionedd the youths saying he might be surprised to find those who start late will end up beating him.
"Vijana nawaomba mtumie akili wakati wa kupanga kura. Wakati wa siasa tutazungumza lakini msikue na haraka. Speed haisaidii, unaeza kimbilia mbele alafu mzee atoke Nyuma akuje akupite," he said.
With the DP fashioning himself as a youthful candidate in the 2022 presidential race, the message appeared to be targeting the Dp.
On the Other hand, Raila being a holder than the DP by far, his late entry to political campaigns could be linked to the Presidents analogy of an old man passing the youthful who are quick with speed.
