Kikuyu Elders Deny Sending Group That Met Ruto, Reveals Their Preferred Candidate

A group that met with Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen office on Friday has been expelled by a portion of Kiambu elders.

The elders, lead by Kiama County Chairman Njoroge Minae, minimized the Karen meeting by claiming that the gathering had lost its focus while meeting with the DP.

"It is clear that not the Kiambu or Muranga leadership, but a subset of the Kiambu men, felt it necessary to travel to Karen. Not us, he responded, "send the group to Karen.

The elders welcomed the Kiambu governor James Nyoro, and then they addressed the media at their temple in Juja.

According to the elders, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga are supported by the Mount Kenya region.

We have decided that they should still return and that we should all support ODM regardless of what they take from Karen, Minae remarked.

The elders also took advantage of the occasion to urge the citizens of the Kiambu community to vote for governor Nyoro in the next elections.

For the shortest period he has been in office, they claimed, the governor has changed the county.
