Mouthwatering Salaries Of Ruto's CSs That They Will Forego Next Month, Kenyans React.

Cabinet secretaries in President William Ruto's Government have unanimously resolved to Forego one month's salary as their contribution towards drought mitigation efforts in the country.

The move was announced on Tuesday after the president chaired a cabinet meeting at statehouse Nairobi.

"In solidarity with all Kenyans affected by the ongoing drought, the meeting resolved that all Members will forgo one-month salary as their individual and collective contribution towards the ongoing State interventions that support all the Kenyans affected by the drought.” read a section of the communique sent to newsrooms.

The meeting considered various policy matters including an assessment of the impact of the interventions implemented to mitigate the effects of drought.

Now how much does a cabinet sectary earns per month that is set to be lost?

According to a circular dated july 22 by salaries and remuneration commission, a CS is entitled to KSH 940,000 per month while president William Ruto takes home ksh 1,443,950 and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagwa KSH 1,227,188.

Some kenyans who reacted online wondered how the CS's are going to survive throughout the month without salaries. However others opined that most of the CS's are very wealthy hence there is nothing wrong if they give.

Andy:Their combined net worth is billions: why don't they forgo a combined few hundred million, now that they're throwing some hundreds of thousands to sponsor leavers' bashes?
