Deputy president William Ruto has taken to his Facebook page and shared some good news about the UDA party. This is after Suleiman Shabbal's running mate for the Mombasa Gubernatorial seat defected and joined Ruto's party in what is seen as political realignment.

In his post, Ruto noted that Selina Maitha had opted to leave the Azimio movement after frustrations that came about after she was asked to step down in favor Abdulswamad who is the ODM flag bearer for the Mombasa Gubernatorial race in the coming elections slated for August of this year.

Present during the event were two vocal leaders from Mombasa who have been on the forefront to campaign for Ruto in the coming polls. The team so keen to ensure that the whole of Mombasa consolidates behind Ruto who is seeking the presidency in the coming polls. So far Ruto seems to be winning in the area.
