UDA Cries Foul As Their Agents In The Ongoing By-elections Have Been Reportedly Arrested

The United Democratic Alliance party, the party linked to the deputy president William Ruto, has strongly protested against harassment by the police in the ongoing Rurii ward by-elections.

In the statement issued by the Secretary-general Ms. Veronica Maina, UDA party agents in the ward have been arrested and their roles have been taken over by strangers pretending to be party members.

"UDA key agents in Rurii ward, Nyandarua County, Brian and Daniel Githinji have this morning been arrested by police outside Rurii polytechnic and taken to Ol' Kalou police station. This was moment after their car was detained and phones confiscated by the police." Reads part of the statement.

The party has noted that their agents have been intimidated across the ward something which is against the constitution. At the same time, police have also mounted unnecessary roadblocks aiming at intimidating voters.

UDA and Jubilee parties are facing off in the Rurii ward by-elections, both are determined to prove their might in the region that will likely determine the next president of Kenya. Other by-elections currently ongoing are Juja and Bonchari Parliamentary seats, both parties have got candidates in these elections too.
