The race for Bomet Gubernatorial race is one of the hotly contested seat in the coming general election slated for 9th August this year as Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader and former Chair of Council of Governors Honourable Isaac Rutto face his rival and current Bomet Governor Honourable Professor Hillary Barchok.
Professor Barchok was sworn in as third Governor of Bomet following the demise of Dr.Joyce Abonyo Laboso in 2019.Joyce vying on a Jubilee ticket had defeated Rutto in the 2017 general election who was in the NASA coalition.
According to the latest poll by the Mizani Africa,former Chebalungu legislature of CCM is leading in terms of popularity with 50.5% with the current Governor of UDA with 44.5% of those conducted.
Another 3.1% are still undecided on whom they will vote for with 1.9% being shared among other Gubernatorial aspirants.
