The ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna has responded on the Machakos senatorial by elections where the Wiper party party emerged by a victory of a big margin. Sifuna has come forward to claim that the win in that was greatly influenced by the ODM leader Raila Odinga. According to Sifuna, in the decision for the Maendeleo Chap Chap to drop from the race, there was a great influence from Raila who spoke to the candidate and the party leader beforr they took the decision.
Machakos senatorial by election was thought to be among the most vigorous contest between the three top contestants of Wiper, UDA and Maendeleo Chap Chap, but the moment the Mutua led party candidate droped in favour of Hon. Kavindu, the poll became clear. This comes at the time the handshake team seems to be reading from different scripts especially the ODM leader's side and that of the other three leaders.
Some ODM legislators are on record to say that the handshake was between the president and the ODM leader Raila Odinga, but the other partners seems to benefit more than the ODM party itself. This comes at the time when the 2022 polls are nearing and politicians are aligning themselves towards the dream team which will be in the next government.
