The second in command has served the role of a deputy president in a very humble manner. He has always avoided direct public conflict with his boss that is the chief commander of all the armed forces.
He has however revealed that his good relationship with President Uhuru started to fall out in 2017 when he they won the 2017 general elections. He said this while he was in his tour in America together with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In his opinion, Ruto has revealed that his fall out with the president Uhuru is what led to the development of the popular handshake between the president and the former prime minister.
He has however revealed that he has an absolute respect towards his boss. This comes even after the president chose to endorse Raila Odinga in the upcoming elections.
