Differences Betwn Bomet And Kericho Leaders Emerged In Presence Of Pres Ruto During Thanksgiving

Today at the Thanksgiving ceremony in Bomet County, which was attended by president William Ruto, the divisions between Kericho and Bomet counties were painfully evident.

Leaders from Kericho and Bomet argued over their respective counties' demands for the building of referral hospitals. While Bomet leaders want it close to them, Kericho leaders want the referral hospital built where it was agreed—in Londiani.

Today's event saw senate majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot cancel Bomet leaders' plans, claiming that the hospital's dispute had been resolved and that it was no longer a factor. Brighton Yegon, a Konoin MP, claimed that the underserved Southrift County deserved to host the Referral Hospital or to be brought closer, such as Kapkatet.

The two county officials' demands clashed throughout the back-and-forth. This was in addition to other improvements the leaders have requested, such as finishing the Kyogong-Chebunyo road, upgrading the region's run-down hospitals, and other things.
