Senator Mutula kilonzo junior has settled on Lucy Mumbua Mulili as his running mate in his bid for Makueni gubernatorial seat come August. Mutula junior is running for Makueni governor using the Wiper Democratic Party ticket.

Mutula kilonzo junior is from Mbooni and he is a lawyer and the current senator of Makueni county. He is a member and vice-chair of The Democratic Movement. He was elected as the second senator of Makueni county on the wiper democratic movement ticket in a by-election in July 2013.

The by-election was after the demise of his father Mutula Kilonzo who was also a lawyer and was the senator. Mutula junior is currently running his second term as a senator since his election in 2017.

Lucy comes from Kasikeu, Kilome sub-county, Makueni county. She has worked as a county commissioner for three counties. Lucy was currently working in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) offices before leaving her job in February this year.
