Charlene Ruto, the daughter of President William Ruto, has come under fire for comments she made while in the Office of the First Daughter.
Charlene caused quite a stir at the East African Community Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, at the 2022 YouLead Summit by stating, falsely, that she was the director of this nonexistent office.
Ruto has already fired her, stating that she was misled by those closest to her when she announced that the office employed employees.
I mean, this is just a girl acting like a kid. Perhaps her coworkers are nudging her, and she needs this room to herself... Saying on Wednesday, "I was telling her maybe we could do this,' but you know, she is... she is okay. The comments were made during an interview he gave to reporters at State House in Nairobi on Wednesday night.
Even the Head of State recognized that there is no such position. Earlier, Charlene had come forward to set the record straight, stating that the office does not receive public funding.
As a result of Charlene's comments, Ruto has come under fire from his opponents and critics, with some accusing him of setting up fake offices to house his entourage. DAP-K Patron Eugene Wamalwa has accused Ruto of utilizing subsidy cuts to pay empty government offices.
"The roles of First Lady, Second Lady, and Third Lady have been established. According to rumors, they've started yet another group for the First Daughter "the former Defense Minister stated on December 14 in Nairobi.
