Orange Democratic movement party leader Raila Odinga is on the day two of his gradual climbing of the mountain after attracting mammoth crowd yesterday in several places in mount Kenya Region as he was on a journey of ride with Raila Odinga.
Today,the opposition chief is acting as the chief guest to a mount Kenya Region foundation luncheon that is taking place at the Safari Park hotel in Nairobi where several businessmen and tycoons from mount Kenya Region have met to drum up support for Raila Odinga's presidential candidature.
According to the boda boda chairman from mount Kenya Region,Mr. Kimani Wanduthi,the boda boda people are going through a lot of difficulties in the country which are supposed to be looked upon.
Wanduthi said that as boda boda chairman,the boda boda riders needs to be registered in Saccos,given health insurance cover,taken to driving School to sharpen their skills and have legal documents,stop the harassment by the police.
"Mr. Prime Minister Raila Odinga I want to urge you that please look into our grievances,we are a good number of about 5.2 million votes country wide and being with us means a lot. My people need to be registered in Saccos, given health insurance cover,taken to driving school to sharpen their skills and get legal documents,stop the harassment by the police," Kimani Wanduthi said.
Wanduthi who opened the floor of the speech amongst the mount Kenya tycoons said that in mount Kenya Region alone they are about 450,000 boda bodas and thus fuel consumption is high thus urged the members of parliament to reduce the price of fuel.
"I must be honoured to be the first person to speak among these big names and people,I must say it is a kudos. Again in mount Kenya Region alone,we are about 450,000 boda boda and thus fuel consumption is very high because ever rider consumes about 10liters of fuel per day. Please our members of parliament review that tax on fuel and let the prices reduce," he said.
