Lesson From The British People That Kenyans Should Emulate

While most of us cheer and celebrate our leaders even when they are doing the wrong thing or even going against the laws made by them, in the United Kingdom Queen Elizabeth and her grandson Prince William have been criticised for not wearing masks while in public.

The Duke of Cambridge and his grandmother appeared in public in a very rare occasion since the country imposed lockdown to mitigate the spread of the virus.

According to the Guardian, the Queen paid a courtesy visit to the Defence Science Technology Laboratory located at Porton Down in company of her grandson Prince William who is also the Duke of Cambridge.

The two members of the royal family did not put on a mask during their visit. However the Guardian reports that the Palace official said that there was a proper medical advise undertaken before the two went out.

Accident to the Guardian, a section of Britons who calls themselves Graham Smith of Republic criticised the Queen for not showing good precedents to the corona virus pandemic restrictions.

Graham Smith of Republic said, “The Queen should be setting an example. I can’t see how this fits with the rules everyone else is expected to follow, so the palace needs to come up with a rules-compliant explanation.”

A British based Television host Piers Morgan also criticised the Queen in a Tweet saying, "Sorry, but this is not a smart move by the royal family as the virus rages and the country heads into another lockdown.”

"By not wearing a mask the Queen sends a very strong and stupid message that will have the antimask brigades clapping with joy", tweeted John Smith who is the son of the late human rights activist Harry Leslie.
