Today was the D-day for two counties, that Kakamega and Mombasa counties. The inauguration ceremony was taking place for governors that were elected on 23rd August 2022.
Today at Bukhungu Stadium, Governor Fernandes Barasa took his oath ready to serve the County Government of Kakamega County.
His Deputy Governor Hon Ayub Savula also took his oath and promised to deliver in their leadership.
Apart from swearing-in, Senator Dr Boni Khalwale and Hon Ayub Savula had nice moments and exchanged smiles, which actually symbolised unity.
"The Deputy Governor for Kakamega, Hon Ayub Savula, upto to his usual mischieve whispering to me', stated Dr Boni Khalwale.
On the other hand, Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir was sworn-in as the 2nd governor for Mombasa County. In the inauguration ceremony, the team of Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance was president.
In attendance there was Raila Odinga, Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Ladema Ole Kina amongst other leaders.
