While campaigning for ANC party Candidate Peter Oscar Nabulido, the Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala attacked his Governor Wycliffe Oparanya. The vocal Senator pointed out that the Kakamega Governor was avtraitor to the mulembe nation.
He went on to say that while the KANU chairman Gideon Moi, Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula and wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka opted not to field any candidate, Oparanya coerced the ODM leader to field a candidate to challenge the ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.
He proceeded to note that the Governor move was because he want to interfere with the popularity of Musalia Mudavadi in the western region. Malala however warned him that he was going to find it hard in succeeding to bring disunity to the mulembe nation.
Malala also noted that what Oparanya was not aware was that Oscar Nabulido was enjoying massive support from the four political heavy weights and that him alone could not do a lot. He also discredited his Candidate who he said was old and he had nothing to offer.
He also hit at the deputy President whom he said was not going to get anything from the election as the residents of Matungu were not ready for his wheelbarrows initiative. He infact advised him not to waste his resources in campaigning for his UDA candidate.
