The 2022 presidential succession struggle is on and today, October 2022, Dp William Ruto has visited several areas in Kakamega county, western Kenya.

In one of Ruto's campaigns in Shianda, Kakamega County, Ruto attacks directly the handshake duo and boldly alleges that the Orange Democratic Movement leader, Raila Odinga was the person behind the retardation of the big four agendas.

At the beginning of Uhuru-Ruto reign, president Uhuru's government formulated the big four agendas which were to act as a road map towards the achievement of economic freedom among Kenyans.

However, things turned immediately the handshake occurred as Uhuru and his deputy started separating.

"The roadmap which I and Uhuru had drawn in 2013 was jeopardized by my competitor. He came and disorganised the party. Since then, he has been busy trying to alter the constitution through " Raggae" which I made sure stopped as soon as it began," Ruto said.

"To me, Kenyans are my priority, not the constitution. The constitution is there to guide us but not to be used to suppress Kenyans," Ruto added.

Since early 2018, Ruto and Raila have been competing fiercely as each one of them feels he is fit to succeed President Uhuru. The political squabble has however taken another turn this year as things have heated up.

Kenyans should however remember that peace is paramount despite them having different political stands as the country heads into elections.
