Following a conversation he had with Ukrainian President Zelensky, William Samoei Ruto, president of the republic of Kenya, once again demonstrated his position of neutrality toward the Russia-Ukraine war.
President Zelensky acknowledged the talks and thanked his Kenyan counterpart for his assistance as a UN security council member and for his constructive engagement with the UN.
He went on to say that they also talked about other topics of shared concern, such as food security.
"President William Ruto and I had a useful talk. I praised him for his helpful participation in the UN and his assistance as a member of the UN Security Council. Food security, the grain from Ukraine initiative, and the development of grain hubs in Africa were additional topics of discussion. We decided to increase our cooperation ", Zelensky remarked.
Following Zelensky's findings, some Kenyans expressed the opinion that the country will now serve as a battlefield for western countries eager to grab Kenya's attention.
