Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Kiplangat Mandago is a leader who never misses his words. He uses proverbs to convey a very important message to the public. The second-term governor has been known as a leader who holds no political grudges.
In the 2017 general elections, Mandago shocked Jubilee party leadership when he was endorsed for the governorship seat by the opposition leaders [Nasa]. Mandago returned the favor and later asked residents of Langas ward in Eldoret to vote for an ODM candidate.
2 year ago Mandago prophecied and warned the Jubilee party that soon it will be in trouble after ODM leader Raila Odinga was welcomed to the government by his handshake counterpart President Uhuru in March 2018.
"Hii mtu anaitwa Raila ni mtu mzuri. Shida ako na tatizo moja, mahali amepitia lazima abomoe. Ulizeni mimi...LDP alimaliza, Ford alisambaratisha, akaingia kwa KANU akakata jogoo kichwa akakimbia nayo.sasa ameingia Jubilee na atamaliza sisi," Mandago said.
1 year later, Mandago's prophecy has been fulfilled as heat can be felt within the ruling party after Dp Ruto yesterday openly blamed the ODM boss for the Jubilee's failure.
"Tulipata ajali kidogo kwa sababu ule jamaa wa kitendawili alitutembelea na akaleta kisirani na ile serikali tulikuwa tunaendesha, na akatuletea mambo ya reggea," said Dp Ruto.
With 11 months to Kenya's general elections, the political heat is slowly starting to rise with top politicians assembling their troops ready for the big battle come 2022 posing the question, do you believe the Jubilee party will survive beyond the 2022 elections? Share your thoughts below.
