According to him, though such a chance is flimsy at the moment, if Raila Odinga fails, other options would still be there within the opposition party.
"Raila Odinga has not completely said that he won't run for the presidency this coming year. However, in case such happens, we already have two people who have applied,"James Orengo disclosed.
He noted that the chance was still there to have Raila Odinga deliver his applications for nomination as ODM party presidential candidate after a meeting of the highest organ of the party.
According to him, there was still an open chance to have even more people apply to run for the presidency under ODM party apart from Mombasa County governor Ali Hassan Joho and Kakamega county counterpart Wycliffe Oparanya.
In terms of the elections, he disclosed that there was a very minimal probability of having them postponed to 2024 or 2026 under the current constitution of Kenya.
"Well, I cannot downplay such a scenario, but remember we have done it before. In 2013, we were supposed to have the elections in December 2012, however, they were held in March 2013,"James Orengo.
However, according to him, such a scenario would be completely controversial in the country especially from among the citizens and the political class.
