Politically, DP William Ruto and Baringo county senator Gideon Moi are immiscible, reason? a stolen birthright no doubt. Daniel Arap Moi takes credit for hauling the now self crowned Chief Hustler out of blues and thrusting in power, fame and influence.
When Moi's political body grew weak, he wished that his biological protégé will take over his 'rungu' but Samoei made away with it and for that reason, Gideon-Ruto will live as cats and dogs.
Interestingly, politics is not static, friends turn enemies so do enemies turn friends, use UhuRuto case for reference. Soon or later, the duo will undoubtedly embrace each other but before then, Gideon should play Ruto's tune.
Presently, William is the defacto king of Rift Valley politics but after him, somebody else will take over. Of those who stands to take his place is Gideon himself, the easiest way he can achieve this is by supporting Samoei's bid and believe, Ruto's supporters will hail and award him aftermath.
Moi's support may be genuine but by playing a second fiddle, he will get what he won't through belittling and frustrating the North-Rift based politician.
As a starter pack for this fruitful end, Gideon who has been rated third by recent polls should declare Ruto tosha, his rating will double in his turf and this will be of great leap in days to come.
